Goal
The goal is an institution that can carry its own decision. A board, an owner, and the manager who runs the next week should be able to find the same account: what was chosen, who may act, and what evidence would show that the choice is failing.
That goal is met in the operating week, not in a closing presentation. The record the institution already keeps has to be the one people use. Authority has to sit with a person who can act when the advisor is not in the building. A control, a price, and a refusal have to mean the same thing on Tuesday that they meant in the meeting.
The goal is not a larger chart or a longer policy. It is a shorter path from the record to the decision, and from the decision to the work. The practice pursues that goal with institutions in Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio.
