Institutional design and reform
← Governance & Institutional Design
Companies redraw the organization when growth, a purchase, or a second state makes the old path ridiculous. Approvals pile up. Or they vanish, and a decision happens in a hallway. Both are design failures.
We map who can say yes, who is only informed, and which committee exists because nobody ended it. The repair is a smaller set of roles and a cadence the company can keep. Quick changes come first, so people trust the longer ones.
This is the same work we do with organizations in Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio.
What the work includes
- Map current decision rights, committees, and escalation paths
- Redesign roles, charters, and operating cadence for growth
- Align governance with strategy and risk appetite
- Separate the changes that can be tried this month from the ones that need a new rule
What should be different afterward
- Faster decisions with clearer ownership
- Fewer overlapping committees and shadow processes
- A structure boards and executives can explain and defend
