Stakeholder engagement and consensus-building
← Governance & Institutional Design
Strategies fail in the gap between people who agreed in a meeting and people who have to change their week. Owners, executives, and the operators under them can all be sincere and still be describing different decisions.
The work is to put those people in front of the same choice, with the same facts, early enough that disagreement is useful. Consensus here does not mean a soft compromise. It means the people who can stop the plan have already been heard.
This is the same work we do with organizations in Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio.
What the work includes
- Stakeholder mapping and interest/influence analysis
- Facilitated workshops for contested decisions
- Consensus pathways for board and leadership teams
- A short note of what was agreed, and who tells the people who were not in the room
What should be different afterward
- Fewer stalled initiatives
- Documented agreements and next-step ownership
- Stronger trust among decision-makers
