Investment and project cost analysis
A project paper that cannot be stressed is a request for faith. Lenders and boards have both become less willing to supply it. Input costs move. The schedule slips. The case still has last year's assumption in the model.
We build the cost so someone hostile to the project can follow it: what is capital, what is operating, what happens in the worse case, and which assumption the whole answer depends on. The paper should survive a question, not a presentation.
This is the same work we do with organizations in Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio.
What the work includes
- Build cost models and investment cases with assumptions made explicit
- Compare options with sensitivity and scenario analysis
- Identify cost drivers, contingencies, and stage-gates
- Support board packs for investment decisions
What should be different afterward
- Transparent investment logic
- Better capital allocation under uncertainty
- Documented assumptions auditors and lenders can follow
