← Governance & Institutional Design
Some institutions need a wider set of voices than a management meeting provides: members, staff, a community the organization claims to serve. Widening the room without a design just makes the meeting longer.
We design how input is gathered, what it is allowed to decide, and what remains with the people who hold the legal duty. Participation should improve the quality of a decision. It should not be a second government with no clock.
This is the same work we do with organizations in Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio.
What the work includes
- Design councils, forums, and feedback loops with clear mandates
- Define who is consulted versus who decides
- Build agendas, evidence packs, and decision records
- Measure participation quality and follow-through
What should be different afterward
- Better-informed decisions with broader legitimacy
- Predictable participation that does not create gridlock
- Transparent records of input and outcomes
