Mission

The purpose of Governance & Business Laboratory is to help an institution choose in a way it can defend. A board, an owner, and a plant manager live with the choice after the meeting is over. The work is written for that reader.

Institutions rarely fail for lack of an idea. They fail when authority, evidence, and the operating week are three different stories. A strategy can be approved, a system purchased, and an organization chart revised, and Tuesday can still look the same.

The laboratory exists to bring those three into one account. What is being chosen. Who is accountable. What evidence would show that the choice is holding. The aim is a record people use, not a record that only proves a meeting happened.

That purpose is deliberately plain. It is the one that matters when a lender, a customer, a regulator, or a new owner asks how the institution is actually run.
